Rocky Mountain Public Media is one of the nation’s largest and most cutting-edge public media organizations. As the only statewide public media station, with television, radio and digital properties, RMPM strives to enrich the lives of all Coloradans through engaging and essential programs, services and community partnerships that inform, enlighten and entertain. To further this mission, RMPM is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for public media, accounting, and grant administration.  This position will serve as a key member of the Rocky Mountain Public Media Finance & Accounting team and will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

TYPICAL DUTIES:  Directs and leads the finance function, including monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, reports, and forecasts. Assesses and evaluates financial performance of RMPM with regard to long-term operations goals, budgets, and forecasts. Provides and presents reports and leads special programs for and in conjunction with the RMPM Board of Directors and its Committees. Develops and evolves budgeting process for the organization. Manages the cash flow of the organization and implements appropriate internal controls, audit policies, and reviews. Recommends and obtains all financing required for the organization. Participates in the development and execution of RMPM Strategic Plan, Annual Operating Plan, and new ventures. Responsible for all tax filings including state and federal tax filings. Leads annual audit process with outside auditors. Oversees contract administration, legal co-ordination, and licensing applications. Responsible for compliance with CPB rules and regulations, tax laws, GAAP, federal grants rules and ERISA and ACA. Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business related field required. Minimum of three years’ professional experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager or similar role. Active CPA license preferred. Demonstrated capability in budgeting and forecasting.  Qualified candidates will also have strong analytical abilities, change leadership experience, team building skills and proficiency in grant administration. Willingness to adjust schedule to comply with periodic deadlines is required. Previous experience with a not-for-profit organization a plus.
