THE POSITION: 
 
At STACK, the Director of Public Affairs role is responsible for leading economic development, government relations, and community engagement initiatives related to the development, execution, and operation of data centers in North America. The Director of Public Affairs is also responsible for building stakeholder coalitions and collaborating with industry partners, STACK’s clients, and other key partners in achieving favorable outcomes in communities STACK is or plans to become a part of.
 
This role will primarily partner with our Development and Operations teams to develop, maintain, and advance Public Affairs initiatives. The position will be based in remotely in Virginia or at STACK’s headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead economic development efforts in conjunction with the priorities of the business and our clients in the region
  • Manage relationships with community leaders and partners, industry coalitions, and regional associations focused on economic development
  • Develop and maintain a strong community relationship and engagement strategy that cultivates positive relationships for STACK with the communities we’re a part of and the stakeholders STACK partners with
  • Support the market assessment for potential new sites in the region, helping identify potential economic incentive opportunities for new and existing data center development
  • Present to leadership on economic inventive opportunities, community dynamics, opportunities to advance STACK’s impact in the community, and how they intersect with business goals
  • Partner with the Development teams to support individual projects and market level initiatives

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, policy, or communications discipline advantageous, but not required
  • Significant prior experience in economic development, government relations, and community engagement
  • Significant experience providing communications to internal and external stakeholder at all levels, including company executives
  • Some prior experience in industrial, energy, network, or data center infrastructure

THE DETAILS: 

  • Location: Denver, Colorado or Northern VA
  • Compensation: $180,000 to $190,000
  • Benefits: Healthcare, Dental Care, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Paid Leave Programs
  • Travel:  Domestic travel based on business needs, up to 30%
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States 
  • Must pass comprehensive background screening
