The Job

As a Marketing Content Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating engaging and persuasive content that effectively communicates our brand message that drives member engagement and reach. Your role will involve crafting various types of content across multiple channels, including website copy, blog posts, social media content, email campaigns, and more. You will work closely with the team to develop content strategies that align with our business goals and resonate with our target audience.

Key Essential functions include but are not limited to:

Content Strategy:
    • Contribute to the development of content marketing strategies and editorial calendars that align with company objectives and target audience interests.
    • Conduct keyword research and utilize SEO best practices to optimize content for search engines and improve organic visibility.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and content marketing best practices to inform content creation efforts.
    • Work closely with organizational stakeholders to drive content messaging and storytelling for the organization’s events, programs, objectives, and outreach.
Content Editing and Proofreading:
    • Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in messaging, grammar, and style.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review and refine content, incorporating feedback and making revisions as needed.
Brand Voice and Messaging:
    • Maintain consistency in brand voice and messaging across all marketing content to ensure a cohesive and recognizable brand identity.
    • Uphold brand guidelines and standards in all written communications, adhering to tone, style, and messaging guidelines.
Email Campaign Strategy and Execution:
    • Develop and implement email marketing strategies to achieve business goals, including organizational communications, member acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
    • Create and schedule email campaigns, including newsletters, promotional offers, business announcements, and event invitations.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to segment email lists based on audience demographics, behavior, and preferences.
Content Creation and Optimization:
    • Write engaging and persuasive email copy that drives action and communicates our brand message effectively.
    • Design visually appealing email templates and graphics that align with brand standards and enhance the user experience.
    • Conduct A/B testing of email subject lines, content, calls-to-action, and send times to optimize campaign performance.
    • Write clear, concise, and compelling copy for a variety of marketing materials, including website pages, landing pages, blog posts, social media posts, email newsletters, advertisements, and promotional materials.
    • Tailor content to different audience segments, ensuring that messaging is relevant and resonates with target demographics.
    • Collaborate with graphic designers, video producers, and other team members to develop multimedia content that enhances the overall marketing strategy.
Audience Segmentation and Personalization:
    • Segment email lists based on subscriber data, including demographics, purchase history, engagement level, and other relevant factors.
    • Implement dynamic content and personalization techniques to deliver tailored messaging and offers to different audience segments.
    • Continuously refine audience segmentation and targeting strategies based on campaign results and audience feedback.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, ROI, and other data streams to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
    • Analyze campaign data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
    • Generate regular reports on marketing campaign performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations to inform future strategies

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of proven experience in a high-performing marketing department or agency setting, preferably in a B2C or B2B marketing environment.
  • Proficiency in email and marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot, SproutSocial, Marketo, or Adobe Marketing Cloud.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling marketing content that drives engagement and conversion.
  • Experience with email design and HTML/CSS coding for email templates (preferred but not required).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels and best practices, including SEO, social media, email marketing, and content distribution.
  • Familiarity with graphic design principles and multimedia content creation tools.
  • Understanding of branding principles and the ability to maintain brand consistency in written content.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Extensive computer work.
  • Many deadlines and time constraints.

An ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree, and two years of marketing experience.
The opportunity is a full-time, Exempt position with flexibility with a desired base in the Boulder, CO Headquarters with a Hybrid work schedule. The hourly salary range is $55,000 – $65,000 when annualized. GSA provides excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and PTO, which include paid holidays, life insurance, 403(b) retirement, and opportunities for professional development. Additional recognized time off includes Juneteenth and Indigenous Peoples Day in 2024.
