Marketing Manager, Community and Partnerships

The primary responsibilities of the Marketing Manager, Community and Partnerships is to execute the strategies associated with our team athletes, community ambassadors, owned and sponsored events, partner relationships and programs for Smartwool and icebreaker. They will establish and maintain standards and procedures to ensure accurate and inspirational brand representation in all facets of their responsibilities.

How You Will Make a Difference

What you will do:

  • Execute the strategy, KPIs and manage the budget for all brand ambassadors, athletes, sponsored events, and brand partnerships.
  • Manage, retain and recruit the regional community members (athletes, ambassadors, partners, etc) for Smartwool and icebreaker based on corporate business objectives, social impact goals, and within each sporting category.  Work closely throughout the year with each member, maintaining close communication, to ensure performance is maximized and is relevant to the overall strategic plan. Ensure that all community members are fulfilling their contractual agreements (social media posts, athlete days, logo placement, etc).
  • Manage brand sample/seeding processes: This involves ordering and distributing sample products to key community members and providing guidance on intended use for various video/photoshoots, wear testing for feedback, or public appearances. This responsibility encompasses ordering for all athletes, ambassadors, events, partnerships and PR.
  • Negotiates all contracts and process all invoices related to athlete and ambassador compensation, travel, and project sponsorships.
  • Manages the Smartwool and icebreaker events, sponsorships and partnerships including contracts, KPIs, staffing and on-site activation. Orders, maintains, ships and coordinates with partners the hard and soft goods needed for all event footprints. Recruits Community Collective members to work events as needed.

How you will do it:

Work Closely with the regional brand marketing team to assure all aspects of each brands community program, partnerships and event sponsorships ladder up to the global brand objectives and seasonal GTM goals.

What success looks like:

  • Reports out to all stake-holders the successes of tactics after each event relative to traffic, sales, consumer response, competitive landscape, budget and ROI relative to goals.
  • Assists in the projection of the upcoming budget year based upon current year learnings. Continually refines our athlete, ambassador, sponsorship, and partner investments so we are tracking and maximizing ROI as well as maintaining relevancy in key business areas.
  • Represents the brands with a deep understanding of consumer targets, brand values and social impact goals.

Skills for Success

Years of related professional experience:

  • 5-7 years

Educational position requirements: A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet objectives with multiple ongoing projects
  • Outstanding organizational skills

  • Event management experience

Hiring Range:

$69,120.00 USD – $86,400.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
