The Rose Andom Center, Colorado’s first family justice center, enhances the lives of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors by providing streamlined access to comprehensive services through a collaborative model. In a single, safe location, community organizations and government agencies work together to serve individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Position Details:

Reports to: Advocacy Services Manager

Salary Range: $45,000- $60,000 salary, Full-time (Non-Exempt)

Location: Denver, CO – In-Person

Position Summary:

The Resource Advocate plays a crucial role in the operations of the Rose Andom Center by serving as a client’s primary point of contact to connect with services. The Resource Advocate provides the initial intake, conducts risk assessment, and develops a plan to connect with identified resources for those who have experienced intimate partner abuse. The Resource Advocate assists clients in navigating resources and connections to our community and system-based partner agencies who collaborate to serve clients at the Center. The Resource Advocate is required to address a variety of client needs, with a trauma-informed focus, to assist clients with short-term safety planning to identifying partner connections for longer-term stabilization. Necessary traits of a successful candidate include an awareness of the complexity of intimate partner abuse and related issues, the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality, intuitive problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and facilitating positive connections with a broad range of agency partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake appointments with survivors, including completion of initial paperwork, danger assessment, discuss confidentiality parameters, and review the full spectrum of services available to clients at the Rose Andom Center.

• Work with each survivor to identify services needed; facilitate a plan to access services with appropriate partners.

• Support survivors in short-term advocacy services including creating a safety plan, crisis intervention, emotional support, and follow-up resource navigation.

• Track data of Rose Andom Center clients and partner services as appropriate.

• Participate in partner and agency training and professional development opportunities.

• Work closely and cooperatively in a team setting with Rose Andom Center staff, agency partners, and volunteers.

• Other duties as assigned.

Core Competencies:

• Strong trauma-informed, survivor-centered engagement skills with the ability to respond compassionately to individuals in crisis.

• Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and the dynamics of interpersonal violence.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex systems and services clearly.

• Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, with the ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive in high-stress situations.

• Cultural humility and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.

• Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and survivor autonomy.

• High level of personal organization, patience, calm under pressure, and ability to hold firm boundaries.

• Knowledge of human service delivery systems and systems advocacy responsibilities

• Knowledge of the criminal justice system as it relates to domestic violence and sexual assault.

Required Experience:

• Minimum one year of experience in victim advocacy, crisis response, social services, or a related human services role.

• Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care and survivor-centered practices Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.

Preferred Experience:

• Bilingual in Spanish & English

• Bachelor’s degree in human service-related field required; additional related education or experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a criminal background check is required. • Must be authorized to work in the United States. • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
