About the CELL

The Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (CELL), a program of the Mizel Institute, is a nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to advancing public safety through education. Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to better understand, identify, and prevent security threats through dynamic exhibits, speaker series, and training programs. We believe education is the most powerful defense against violent extremism — and we’re looking for a passionate professional to help us make that vision a reality. 

The Opportunity

As the Special Projects Coordinator, you’ll bring your research, writing, and organizational talents to support programs that strengthen communities and promote awareness. You’ll collaborate across departments to produce educational content, coordinate communications, and ensure projects move smoothly from concept to completion. This role is perfect for someone who loves connecting ideas, details, and people — and wants to contribute to meaningful, mission-driven work every day. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Research national and global security topics to inform programming and communications. 
  • Write and edit compelling content for exhibits, programs, events, and outreach. 
  • Coordinate special projects and internal communications using Monday.com. 
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for programs and events. 
  • Assist with program facilitation and audience engagement. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience (communications, marketing, or project coordination). 
  • Degree or experience in national security or related topics preferred. 
  • Excellent writing, research, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented. 
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment. 
  • Passion for education, civic engagement, and public safety.

  •  Salary Range: $58,000–$70,000, depending on experience.
