Description
The Communications Department is seeking a high-caliber Video Production Coordinator to join our team and drive the visual identity of Eagle County Government Television (ECG-TV). Designed for an expert-level video editor and photographer, this role requires an experienced media professional with at least 8 years of experience managing live productions in high-pressure environments. Navigating the multi-faceted organization across dozens of departments, you will act as a full-cycle creative lead—taking projects from initial concept through scriptwriting, shooting, and final delivery. A background in fast-paced news editing is ideal, bringing the speed, storytelling precision, and editorial judgment necessary to translate complex public service initiatives into compelling visual stories.
The position will provide technical support for broadcast operations. Responsibilities include supporting media asset management, production and broadcast systems, and video workflows, as well as troubleshooting technical issues during live productions. The Video Production Coordinator works independently and collaboratively across County departments to translate complex programs, services, and initiatives into clear and engaging visual content.
Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm, some mandatory nights and weekends.

Essential Functions
- Produces short- and long-form video, public service announcements and digital media content for Eagle County Government and partner agencies, managing projects from initial concept through final delivery.
- Develops creative concepts and production plans; conducts interviews; writes and develops scripts; captures video, photography, audio, and b-roll; and completes editing, graphics, post-production, and delivery for multiple platforms and formats.
- Directs and switches live County board meetings, presentations, emergency events, and other live broadcasts, independently managing production and responding to technical issues in real time.
- Provides creative direction and visual storytelling expertise for County communications, media campaigns, and other internal and external communications.
- Operates and supports professional video, photography, audio, lighting, switching, graphics, and other broadcast production equipment and systems.
- Supports and maintains video production and broadcast workflows, media asset management systems, and related production infrastructure; identifies and troubleshoots technical issues and recommends solutions and workflow improvements.
- Collaborates with departments, elected officials, partner agencies, and other stakeholders to identify communication needs and translate complex County programs, services, and initiatives into clear and engaging visual content.
- Produces and optimizes content for a variety of platforms and audiences, including broadcast television, web, social media, and internal communications.
- Maintains organized and accessible video, photography, and other digital media assets in accordance with established standards and practices.
- Serves the community by demonstrating Eagle County Government’s mission and core values and following relevant policies and procedures.
- Observes safety and security procedures, uses equipment and materials safely, and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Emergency Support Functions:
- Live video broadcast support and translation (if needed) during county emergencies.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification, or Registration:
- Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication Or any combination of education and experience that results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities may also be considered.
- At least 5 years of production related experience
- News or similar broadcast experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record. The position is required to drive a County vehicle to various locations and events in Eagle County.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of professional photography techniques, equipment, composition, and visual standards.
- Knowledge of post-production processes, workflows, and industry standards.
- Knowledge of broadcast engineering concepts, infrastructure, signal flow, and technical production systems.
- Knowledge of networked video production and broadcast systems.
- Knowledge of production requirements and workflows for broadcast, web, and short-form social media content.
- Ability to direct and coordinate professional video productions.
- Ability to direct and switch live broadcasts and make real-time production and technical decisions.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during live productions and broadcasts.
- Ability to evaluate and improve video production, post-production, media asset management, and broadcast workflows.
- Ability to provide creative and technical recommendations related to video production and broadcast operations.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage multiple projects and priorities in deadline-driven and high-pressure environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with County departments, elected officials, partner agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of broadcast production environments, including edit systems, MAMs, camcorders, lighting, audio mixers, switchers and graphics systems.
- Ability to take a video project from concept to completion. This includes meeting with clients, determining scope and execution, interviews, b-roll acquisition, editing, graphics, and final delivery in multiple formats.
- Creativity and a strong understanding of current video trends and broadcast standards is crucial.
