Communications Strategist – Englewood, CO
This role will provide valuable communications and marketing services to support all AE2S practice areas and their clients, as well as direct communications clients. The Communication Strategist will be involved in client relationships and management, business development, project management, content creation and implementation, research and planning, strategy development, branding, marketing, and implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Taking the lead role in conducting comprehensive research through client meetings, interviews, focus groups, and surveys to discern client and community needs for developing strategic communication and marketing plans. This involves utilizing tools like ESRI Tapestry and MySidewalk for secondary research, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of research methods and communication strategies.
- Overseeing the execution of strategies to ensure project success by managing relationships, supervising team workload and quality, adhering to timelines, and surpassing client objectives. This involves crafting compelling content that creates a connection by utilizing multiple media platforms including photography, video production, animation, graphic design, and social media to convey complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Collaborating with team members to generate content for communication, marketing, and community development initiatives (e.g., community plans, proposals, articles), and providing recommendations for refining messaging to effectively reach target audiences through strategic vision, message refinement, and adaptation of style and delivery methods.
- Cultivating client relationships by actively engaging in networking and professional organizations to effectively promote AE2S services.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Marketing, Communications, Community Development, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience, including project and/or client management.
- Demonstrated strong strategic thinking and planning skills with ability to develop relevant creative content with exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective oral and written communication skills to create compelling content and efficiently collaborate with diverse teams, management levels, cultural backgrounds, and individual personalities to achieve successful outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills with experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities, learn new skills, and travel to work in multiple states.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for or with government, public or non-profit entities.
- Experience in graphic design and/or video using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom, etc.)
- Proficiency in crafting marketing plans and establishing brand identity for organizations
Physical Qualifications
- Primary functions require physical ability and sufficient mobility to work in an office setting.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
- Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
- Fine coordination including the use of a computer keyboard.
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.
- May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town.

- Anticipated starting wage: $98,100 to $119,900 DOE (Compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, etc.) This position will remain posted until it is filled.
