The Marketing and Communications Manager is a full-time, salaried ($55,000-$65,000 DOE) employee position with Phamaly Theatre Company. The Marketing and Communications Manager is a full-time, salaried ($55,000-$65,000 DOE) employee position with Phamaly Theatre Company. The Marketing and Communications Manager (or MCM) primarily reports to the Managing Director but also works closely with the Artistic Director. The MCM focuses on building brand awareness, coordinating social media and public relations, supporting development and special events, and assisting with administrative functions.

Preferred Candidates:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree or consummate experience in Marketing, Business, Nonprofit Management, or Theatre. 
  • Have 1-3+ years of professional experience in marketing.
  • Are skilled and experienced with graphic design software including Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.  
  • Experienced with website management and WordPress.
  • Knowledgeable in social media marketing and trends.
  • Have a reliable vehicle and can travel throughout the Denver Metro when needed.
  • Have experience with accessible marketing practices.
  • Experience with the disability community and/or community advocacy a plus.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Managing Director to create and manage annual marketing plan.
  • Monitor marketing budget for the full season, individual productions, and institutional marketing including community event budgets.
  • Coordinate media buys with local outlets and manage needs throughout season/year.
  • Oversee the design process for season artwork, working closely with the Artistic Director, Managing Director, and designer(s).
  • Reformat and/or resize season artwork using Adobe Suite to create posters, postcards, season brochure, digital assets, and merchandise.
  • Create any additional marketing assets including postcards for Phamaly Membership, general postcards, and any online graphics.
  • Assist Managing Director and board with corporate sponsorship program including creating annual sponsorship deck.
  • Create promotional emails highlighting Phamaly and incorporating needed communications.
  • Maintain a regular presence on Phamaly’s social media pages (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn)
  • Coordinate social media campaigns for productions, fundraisers/fundraising programs, and other programming, to encourage engagement.
  • Maintain Phamaly’s website using WordPress, creating new pages (i.e. for productions, fundraisers/fundraising programs, and other programming) and updating it, as needed.
  • Evaluate current and potential marketing campaigns to gauge effectiveness.
  • Support theatre productions, including attending rehearsals and performances, as needed.
  • Attend networking and community events as needed. 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with reporters/media and manage all media inquiries, coordinating interviews and filming, as needed.
  • Write and disseminate press releases for productions and organization announcements. 
  • Coordinate press seats for productions, as needed.
  • Coordinate photography and video needs, both for marketing and development.
  • Schedule and manage actor participation in PR activities.
