The Denver Public Library (DPL) is a growing urban library system that serves the residents of the City & County of Denver. DPL sees more than 4 million visitors every year across its 27 locations, serves Denver’s most vulnerable communities through outreach and mobile services, hosts thousands of programs a year and manages a collection of more than 1.4 million physical and digital materials. As a Business Operations Administrator, your job will be to work closely with leaders within DPL’s Service Design and Coordination subdivision and across the organization, supporting the core goals of the subdivision. This position would help serve as a central point of contact for coordination responsibilities working toward consistency and efficiency. Your primary location will be at the Central Library, however, DPL reserves the right to reassign locations based upon operational and/or staffing needs at any given time.

Tasks that will fall under the responsibility of the Business Operations Administrator include:

  • Working with the team to facilitate budget reconciliation efforts for our programs
  • Manage the coordination of internal equipment for events that staff across our locations use
  • Facilitate approvals of events in our event management system
  • Schedule and assist in planning meetings and take minutes for major projects
  • Recommend and implement new or revised operational/administrative procedures, requirements, and/or guidelines and communicate the changes to employees and management
  • Prepare a variety of analytical and operational reports, correspondence, and other documentation and provide operational information and statistical data for management/departmental use.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience administering business operations or operational programs and/or assisting professional/management staff with administrative or operational functions.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
