Position Overview:
The Development Coordinator supports the mission of The Gathering Place by assisting with individual giving, donor engagement, and stewardship initiatives. This position is responsible for coordinating donor communications, managing event logistics, and maintaining accurate donor data to help deepen relationships and grow philanthropic support. The Development Coordinator will collaborate across teams to ensure a seamless donor experience, support the execution of appeals and events, and play a vital role in ensuring operational excellence within the Development team.

Core Accountabilities
- Assist in planning and executing donor appeals, campaigns, and stewardship initiatives to support annual fundraising goals.
- Create and manage donor communications, including acknowledgment letters, newsletters, and social media content.
- Coordinate logistics for donor-facing events, including preparation of materials, managing timelines, and supporting event execution.
- Maintain donor data in the CRM system with accurate gift entry, segmentation, and reporting.
- Gather and organize member stories, visuals, and impact data for use in donor outreach and engagement materials.
- Monitor and respond to development-related inquiries via email and phone, ensuring a high level of donor service.
- Support tracking and analysis of fundraising and donor engagement metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with program staff to align messaging, visuals, and in-kind donation needs with development priorities.
- Provide administrative support to the Individual Giving Manager and Development team, including scheduling, meeting notes, and maintaining project timelines.
- All tasks will be completed under supervision of the Individual Giving Manager and/or in collaboration with the Development team.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of non-profit experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, including public speaking and meeting facilitation experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationship-building and engagement.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to effectively engage with a variety of stakeholders.
- Drive to meet or exceed fundraising goals
- Proficiency with relationship management software, databases, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of homelessness, poverty, substance misuse
