Duties and Responsibilities:
Political Advocacy:
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and contract lobbyists to champion Colorado Concern's policy objectives.
- Cultivate relationships with lawmakers and council members to garner support for our initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze legislative developments at the state Capitol and Denver City Council, providing strategic guidance to the CEO.
- Represent Colorado Concern through public testimony and advocacy efforts.
- Conduct in-depth research and formulate original policy positions.
- Engage with political candidates, including involvement in legislative races and candidate interviews.
- Act as the staff liaison for member workgroups, committees, and coalitions.
- Advise the CEO on developing strategies to advance Colorado Concern's strategic goals.
- Develop and execute strategic internal and external communication plans.
- Create informative member content, including memos, position papers, and email communications.
- Manage media relations and ensure quality control for public materials, press releases, and interviews.
- Oversee Colorado Concern's website and social media platforms to maintain a strong online presence.
Membership Engagement:
- Strategically develop and implement high-touch member engagement opportunities.
- Foster connections between our members and political leaders to achieve strategic objectives.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in public affairs, government relations, or a related field.
- Proven success in policy advocacy, legislative engagement, and political campaigns.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in managing online platforms and social media.
- An understanding of Colorado's political landscape and relevant networks is a plus.
