Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Flagship Event Management
- Manages strategy, budget, and execution of NOCO Humane’s flagship annual fundraising and stewardship events
- Identifies and manages all logistical details from conception to post-event analysis
- Drives creative discussions with graphic designer to produce all event collateral
- Oversees mailing of materials and invitations
- Researches vendors and makes informed recommendations
- Creates and maintains event-related budgets, timelines, and tracking sheets
- Effectively liaises with vendors and other stakeholders throughout the planning process
- Sets agendas and leads team members in weekly event meetings
- Manages event committee and subcommittee members task assignment and follow through
- Responsible for working with team members to ensure follow-through on event related tasks including, but not limited to, marketing and social media needs and silent auction strategy and processes
- Maintains working knowledge of industry best practices
- Manage event software platforms; works closely with Marketing and Communications Manager to update events on website; conducts training for necessary staff and volunteers on software as needed
- Responsible for securing sponsorships and in-kind donations for events and for sponsorship benefit fulfillment
- Manage strategy, budget, and execution of donor cultivation and stewardship events, including shelter tours, Circle of Champions reception, Heritage Circle brunch, and other events as needed
- Recruits and directs volunteer support as needed
- Foster trusted relationships where you become the ‘go-to’ contact for all Organization events
- Leads by example and builds and maintains trusted relationships with team members through professional conduct, respectful communication, and team work
- Works with cross-functional shelter team members and community groups to effectively plan and implement NOCO Humane’s event strategy

- Business Partnership Program Management:
- Responsible for growing business partnership opportunities that support fundraising goals and/or strategic objectives, including but not limited to Monthly Business Partnership sponsorships, collaborative events both on- and offsite, and Workplace Giving Programs
- Manages logistics, contracts, and payment processes for NOCO Humane’s Group Service Day program to engage business partners through single day service opportunities
- Develops business partnership proposals for solicitation; responsible for proposal benefit fulfillment
- Seek out new business partnership opportunities while also ensuring strategic maintenance of existing partnerships
- Recruits and directs volunteer support as needed
- Maintains statistical tracking; provides monthly report on all business partnership activities including metrics relating to the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of business partners
- Community Event Management:
- Proactively researches and participates in select community events that ensure high visibility, brand recognition, and regular exposure of NOCO Humane in the community
- Administers Community Room Rental program including scheduling, logistics, contracts and payment; engages with community partners to promote rental opportunities
- Recruits and directs volunteer support as needed
- Maintains statistical tracking; provides monthly report on all community event activities
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Proactively shares outcomes, insights, and opportunities that arise to benefit team in learning about best practices and also validate/inform future strategic direction
- Participates in annual and strategic long-range planning; responsible for achieving departmental goals in related sub-categories
- Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks and special projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applicable experience. Minimum of two years demonstrated comparable event and project management required – three or more years preferred. Proven exemplary customer service experience. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication. Experience writing donor communications and strong attention to detail required. Experience working with vendors including negotiating project details and conducting cost comparisons required. Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with MS Word and Excel; database management experience preferred; CRM, event management software, and/or Chameleon or other shelter software experience a plus. Non-profit experience preferred. Experience working in animal welfare a plus.

Proven project management knowledge and experience. Exemplary customer service in all interactions. Proven effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. High level of accuracy, flexibility and ability to meet tight deadlines. Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects, tasks. Ability to identify, notify development team members, and track multiple prospects and donors. Confidence in soliciting donations and negotiating sponsorships; strong organizational skills; ability to work cooperatively as a team member and project leader; ability to effectively manage volunteers; ability to exercise sound judgment in all circumstances especially when working with confidential information; ability to effectively negotiate stressful situations and tight deadlines; ability to maintain effective oversight and professionalism under pressure. Must have emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as required.
Working Conditions:
Work Environment: Open cubicle/office space. Exposure to animals; Potential exposure to zoonotic diseases, animal bites and scratches. Exposure to high noise levels when in kennels; Work may be performed outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
Physical Activities: Able to sit, perform computer work, drive, stand, bend, squat, walk, read and talk for up to eight hours or more a day with breaks; frequent lifting and carrying of up to 40 pounds without assistance and more with assistance; able to work a flexible schedule with regular weekend and evening shifts. Limited animal handling.
Other: Must be at least 21 years of age (required for insurance purposes); Valid Colorado Driver’s License and have and maintain an insurable driving record.
