The mission of the Foundation is to enhance the educational experience and whole well-being of Cherry Creek School District students, staff, and families through community support that provides inclusive and innovative opportunities for all to thrive. About the Role
The Executive Director is a critical role that serves as a conduit between the community and our CCSD community and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s operations, including fundraising, program development, financial management, board management, and staff supervision.
As a strategic leader, the Executive Director motivates and empowers the Foundation’s staff, Board of Directors, district partners and various stakeholders in order to achieve its mission and objectives. This role leads the organization's strategy, manages and strengthens donor relationships, and partners with our CCSD leadership team to ensure alignment with the needs of the District.

The next Executive Director will be a strategic and collaborative thinker who is able to balance short-term needs with long-term goals. They will have excellent communication skills and be able to represent our organization to a variety of audiences.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Management of highly committed and passionate staff providing guidance, motivation, compassion, mentorship and support to help them succeed in their roles
- Provide high-level organizational leadership
- Manage Board of Director Relations
- Manage various district and community partnership relationships
- Ensure the organization is financially sound and operating with financial prudence for long-term sustainability
- Ensure that the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation is represented by a diverse Board of Directors that represents the Foundation’s constituency
- Manage fundraising and development strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission and goals, with a focus on securing major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and individual donations to ensure the Foundation meets its annual fundraising goals
- Manage the strategic planning process to identify programs for funding that align with the organization’s mission and goals, working closely with the Board of Directors, district leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure that programs are effective, efficient, focused on equity and meet the needs of Cherry Creek Schools.
- Oversee and direct our marketing and communications strategy to increase the organization’s visibility and reach within the district and greater community,
- Represent the organization at public events and speaking engagements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years proven track record in senior-level nonprofit position
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing both staff & volunteers
- Minimum of 5 years of professional fundraising experience
- Experience with direct responsibility for major gifts cultivation and stewardship
- Knowledge of nonprofit financial management and budgeting
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, Board of Directors, district leaders and staff, donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong public speaking abilities
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of the Cherry Creek Schools and the community it serves is a plus
Compensation:
This is an exempt, full-time 40-hour/week position. Benefits include a competitive salary, generous paid time off and holidays, health insurance benefits (medical, dental and vision), retirement plan including employer contribution.
Salary range: $130,000 – $145,000
