Description:
Levitt Pavilion Denver is a 6,500-capacity nonprofit, independent venue with a mission to build community through music. Each season, Levitt presents 40+ free concerts spanning a wide array of genres, from emerging artists to national headliners, in addition to hosting rental events with outside promoters. Combined, these events draw an average of 120,000 annual visitors to Levitt’s beautiful, welcoming outdoor lawn in southwest Denver, just 10 minutes from downtown.
The Marketing and Development Manager is responsible for management of communications and systems including the weekly newsletter, promotions, member outreach and benefits, social media accounts, Levitt website, audience records and donor database. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Audience Development and working closely with the Executive Director, the Marketing and Development Manager supports Levitt’s mission by ensuring concert attendees, neighbors, members and donors are engaged and aware of Levitt’s programming and impact throughout the year, and contributing to annual revenue goals.
Core Responsibilities:
Marketing (60%)
- Create, schedule, and manage content for social media platforms, engaging followers and fostering growth.
- Draft, design, and distribute Levitt’s weekly email newsletter and dedicated emails, highlighting upcoming events, initiatives and news.
- Manage and update the Levitt Pavilion Denver website with accurate and engaging content, including homepage features, donor and sponsor recognition, venue information and organizational updates.
- Manage event pages and information on website and ticketing system across all events in the season — includes adapting artist assets, updating sponsor recognition, ensuring event billing, date and time and venue details are accurate and up to date for listings and pre-show reminder emails.
- With oversight and direction from supervisor, execute season promotions including delivery of paid media and advertising materials, implementing digital campaigns, coordinating street team, and collaborating with artists and partners to promote events.
- Work with the Director of Marketing and Audience Development to develop strategies and goals; ensure consistency in branding, voice, and messaging across all channels; evaluate performance of campaigns/initiatives and adjust as needed.
Development (30%)
- Maintain and update the donor database, tracking contributions, contacts, and engagement, and working with Business Operations Manager to ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation for contributed revenue.
- Support membership program operations, including processing benefits, renewals and member communications, and supporting planning and execution of member events.
- Assist in crafting and deploying donor communications, including campaigns and solicitations, gift receipts, thank you letters, event invitations, and impact reports.
- Work with supervisor and Executive Director on development collateral, campaigns, prospect research and planning to meet annual fundraising goals and grow donor base over time.
- Plan and execute supporter recognition and engagement efforts, including special events and activations, greeting donors and members at concerts and maintaining up to date online and onsite donor recognition.
Administrative Support (10%)
- Monitor and manage ticketing and donor records, ensuring accurate data entry, record merging and reporting.
- Assist with departmental budget management for marketing and development activities.
- Organize photo/video content (received from outside vendors and video team) for marketing, development and reporting needs.
- Provide general support to the Director of Marketing and Audience Development, and other duties as assigned by supervisor/leadership team
Additional Duties and Expectations:
Each member of the Levitt Pavilion Denver team is required to uphold the Levitt mission and code of conduct, represent the organization positively at all times and contribute to a company culture of respect, transparency, and collaboration. Regular attendance at all-staff and applicable meetings, clear and consistent communication, and appropriate use of Levitt tools and systems including Google calendars, shared files, Prism and Connecteam is expected.
As a member of the core Levitt team, the Marketing Manager contributes to regular staff and production meetings; provides mentorship and training to part-time and seasonal employees; identifies personnel, facility, and systems needs; and engages in team and individual development, goal-setting and retreats/reflection. Levitt maintains a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and expects all employees to engage in this work through staff meeting reflections, workshops and professional development, identifying role-specific EDI goals and discussing challenges and accomplishments in performance reviews.
As a growing non-profit organization and live concert venue, Levitt Pavilion expects flexibility and accountability from all team members. Nights and weekends will be required at times during the concert season and additional duties may be assigned based on operational needs, while the planning season allows a more hybrid/flexible work schedule.
Qualifications and Competencies
Candidates with 3+ years of marketing, digital media, development or similar fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Educational background or experience in nonprofit organizations, music or other creative fields preferred but not required.
The following additional competencies will set the Marketing and Development Manager up for success — on the job training is available but candidates are encouraged to indicate experience and skills in these areas in their application.
- Google Workspace
- CRM (Levitt uses a ticketing platform for audience tracking and Kindful/Bloomerang for donor data management)
- Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or comparable design tools (while graphic design skills are not required, this position will be responsible for editing, adapting, resizing, etc. of admat, social media graphics and collateral)
- Loomly, Hootsuite or other social media management tools
- Website content management/CMS
- Digital marketing
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization, attention to detail and ability to manage and meet deadlines
Structure and Compensation:
The Marketing and Development Manager is a full-time position with a starting salary of $59,000 annually and a competitive benefits package including health insurance plan, 401k with employer match and generous PTO.
