Description
The Member Success Manager serves as a trusted partner and primary point of contact for CBSA’s member community. This position helps members understand and access the full value of their membership, builds relationships across Colorado’s life sciences ecosystem, and creates welcoming, high-quality experiences at every stage of the member journey.
The role combines relationship management with hands-on event operations. The Member Success Manager leads onboarding, engagement, member communications, data stewardship, and initiatives that support membership retention and growth while owning the logistical planning and execution of CBSA member programs and signature events. Key Responsibilities
Member Success + Engagement (60%)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for CBSA members, providing timely, personalized, and value-driven service.
- Lead new-member onboarding and help members understand benefits, programs, connections, and opportunities available through CBSA.
- Support—and when appropriate, lead—membership growth initiatives in partnership with CBSA leadership and the Partnerships team, including prospect outreach, relationship cultivation, referrals, and follow-up.
- Coordinate renewal outreach and track membership status, engagement, and follow-up to strengthen retention and identify opportunities for membership growth.

- Develop proactive outreach plans that strengthen relationships, identify engagement opportunities, and surface members who may need additional support.
- Maintain accurate member records in Salesforce, including contacts, activities, preferences, participation, and other information needed for reliable reporting.
- Track member-engagement indicators, analyze feedback, and recommend improvements to the member experience.
- Conduct regular outreach and listening activities to understand member needs, satisfaction, priorities, and emerging challenges.
- Support the Membership Committee and other volunteer leaders by coordinating meetings, materials, action items, communications, and follow-up.
- Connect members with relevant CBSA staff, peer organizations, resources, and ecosystem opportunities.
- Collaborate with Partnerships and Marketing colleagues to identify member stories, milestones, and accomplishments for appropriate recognition and promotion.
Event Planning + Operations (40%)
- Lead the logistical planning and execution of CBSA’s event portfolio, including roundtables, educational programs, member gatherings, summits, and signature annual events.
- Develop and maintain master event plans, production schedules, budgets, run-of-show documents, staffing plans, and internal deadlines.
- Manage venues, catering, audiovisual production, event technology, vendors, contracts, room layouts, accessibility needs, signage requirements, and other logistical details.
- Own event-registration operations, including platform setup, attendee records, capacity management, waitlists, confirmations, cancellations, and reporting.
- Manage operational communications to registered attendees, including schedules, venue information, parking, accessibility, and event-day instructions.
- Coordinate speaker, sponsor, exhibitor, volunteer, and staff logistics in partnership with the appropriate CBSA team members.
- Serve as the on-site event lead, directing vendors and staff and ensuring a welcoming, organized experience for participants.
- Partner with the Marketing & Communications Specialist by providing accurate event details, deadlines, audience information, sponsor commitments, and registration updates needed for promotional campaigns.
- Manage post-event surveys and compile attendance, satisfaction, and operational performance data to inform future programs.
- Identify opportunities to improve event processes, participant experience, efficiency, and scalability as CBSA expands its programming capacity.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as organizational needs evolve.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Three to five years of experience in member or customer success, event planning, program management, relationship management, or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a member-first and service-oriented approach.
- Strong project-management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple timelines, stakeholders, and changing priorities.
- Experience coordinating event logistics, vendors, budgets, contracts, registration, and on-site execution.
- Proficiency with customer relationship management systems, preferably Salesforce, and the ability to maintain accurate records and produce useful reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Zoom, and online registration or event-management platforms.
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to follow through independently while collaborating closely with a team.
- Ability to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends and to travel for events, including multi-day engagements.
Preferred
- Experience working for a membership association, nonprofit organization, or other mission-driven organization.
- Experience supporting committees, boards, volunteers, sponsors, speakers, or exhibitors.
- Familiarity with Colorado’s life sciences, healthcare, technology, economic-development, or business community.
- Experience using member feedback, engagement data, or event-performance measures to improve programs and service.
- Salesforce administrator experience.
Compensation + Benefits
Salary range: $65,000–$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience
