What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hiring range for this position is $83,000- $100,000. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

· A guaranteed life-long monthly pension, once vested after 5 years of service

· 140 hours of PTO earned within first year + 11 paid holidays, 1 personal holiday and 1 volunteer day per year

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days. In this position you can expect to work on site at least 3 days per week.

What You’ll Do

Denver Arts and Venues is seeking a Venue Business Development Marketing Strategist to perform professional level revenue and product development and marketing duties. The City and County of Denver is looking for a Business Development Marketing Strategist. The Business Development Marketing Strategist will report to the Marketing Director and will be responsible for vision, strategy, direction, and execution of product development and marketing projects, including development of venue-specific revenue opportunities, product upsells, VIP Programs, communications and marketing related to those products and other duties at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Denver Performing Arts Complex and other City-owned venues.

The position is responsible for developing new revenue strategies specific to venues and entertainment properties through outreach to venue agency partners, corporate sponsors, fans, venue staff and more.

Responsibilities

· Provides business and revenue development expertise for programs related to venue upsell opportunities, venue partnerships and fan-facing upgrade, loyalty, VIP and other programs

· Serves as liaison between marketing group and venue directors, promoters, corporate partners and more

· Plans and implements major marketing and promotional programs, campaigns and events in support of venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Denver Performing Arts Complex and more

· Proposes, develops and monitors budgets for campaigns as needed

· Performs other related duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

· Experience in venue, concert, sports or live event revenue and business development, and promotion and marketing of these products

· Experience in development of products related to fan experience, merchandising, upsell programs, loyalty programs and the marketing programs supporting them

· Working knowledge of live events industry including marketing, sales, partnership marketing, data management and more

· Working experience related to consumer sales, brand development and image management

· Work in fast-paced environments and crisis communications situations

· Persons with general marketing, social media and publicity experience, but without revenue development and live event qualifications will not be considered

Required Minimum Qualifications

· Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a related field

· Experience Requirement: Four (4) years of full performance, professional level experience performing revenue and business development in the live events industry, and marketing and/or public relations functions including research and analysis, and developing marketing and/or public relations strategies for these products

· Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education

· Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements

· License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application

· Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
