Summary

Reporting to the Director of Brand Marketing & Communications, the Social Media Specialist will own and elevate the social media presence for the Under Canvas, ULUM and Outdoor Collection brands (inclusive of Bar N Ranch and Fields of Michigan); build and nurture our community; amplify our earned and owned share of voice via targeted marketing and communications tactics; and drive performance using a data-driven approach to inform strategies and KPIs.

Responsible for the day-to-day digital messaging and visual representation of Under Canvas, the Social Media Specialist must have experience creating and managing innovative brand content to strategically drive engagement, growth, loyalty, booking conversions, and industry leadership.  

They must be masterful at engaging storytelling, with an eye for both detail and aesthetic, and have experience creating IG Reels, TikTok videos, and other bite-size content that connect with consumers, generate buzz, and amplify the brand.

Equally important, the ideal candidate is skilled at tracking and evaluating the effectiveness of social media efforts and providing data-driven insights and recommendations that optimize campaigns and deliver measurable results.

Location: Denver, CO. Hybrid model – in office Monday – Wednesday, work from home Thursday and Friday. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Own and elevate Under Canvas’ social media messaging, visual design, and brand positioning across social channels (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn).
  • Develop and execute a dynamic and multi-channel social content calendar (for Under Canvas and its subsidiary brands) that tells the brand story, generates buzz, and supports business needs.
  • Implement, refine, and post innovative, creative, highly effective social media assets—including Instagram Stories and Reels, TikTok videos, etc. The ability to edit video content for social, as well as add great music and text overlays, will be key. 
  • Build and nurture a vibrant social media community with strategic daily communications. This includes developing captivating content that encourages engagement and participation, and full community management (monitoring and responding to all messages, comments, and tags across IG, Facebook, and LinkedIn) in a timely fashion.
  • Optimize social strategies in pursuit of best-in-class results—by testing frequency, timing, messaging, and content type to determine what is most effective and engaging.
  • Create measurable KPIs and annual targets across all social media efforts.
  • Own and manage reporting/analytics to measure success and learnings and track progress of KPI status.
  • Generate monthly reports per channel—including top performing posts, engagement rates, highest-performing days and times, etc.—and provide data-driven insights that inform your recommendations.
  • Identify new trends and technologies to help evolve social media strategy and grow channels.
  • Seek out and elevate strategic partnership opportunities on key social platforms.
  • Support execution of promotions and giveaways through social.
  • Curate and manage asset library and distribution—including company-owned photos and video, as well as third-party partner, influencer, and UGC assets.
  • Create paid social assets, including graphic design and copy, as needed.
  • Provide ad hoc Brand Marketing support (photo shoot prep, collateral development, blogs, etc.).
  • Support in-house influencer marketing campaigns as needed.
  • Exercise impeccable attention to detail—with an eagle eye for catching errors (spelling, grammar, dates, locations, pricing, etc.) and spotting photo/video imperfections.
  • Be both a team player and a self-starter (able to work autonomously and in a highly collaborative environment, both within the marketing team and across departments). 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, ideally Marketing and/or Journalism. A Graphic Design degree and/or experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience; hospitality and/or travel industry experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience and proficiency in using FB, IG, TikTok, Canva, and video editing platforms. Includes expertise in content development suitable for each channel.
  • Engaging, creative, and strategic writing skills that align with brand voice/style.
  • Excellent communication skills, including impeccable grammar and outstanding attention to detail.
  • Strong skills in photo editing, video editing, creative design, and content management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of social giveaways, influencer marketing, and content usage rights.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including highly developed presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Passion for the outdoors and/or adventure travel
  • MS Office, Google Apps, WordPress proficiency.
  • We are looking for an exceptionally creative eye; experience with Photoshop, Bitly, Linktree, Later, Sprout Social and/or other social media tools; content creation, photo editing, analytics, organizational skills, ruthless prioritization, and multi-tasking.

  • Located in Denver, CO – hybrid model – Denver office and remote/home office
  • This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background and motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.
