Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association is seeking a highly organized and strategic Creative Services Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex marketing and communications initiatives that serve our cooperative members across Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Nebraska.

This role will be central in managing the Workfront project management system , creating a streamlined intake and execution process for marketing and communications requests. The ideal candidate will bring mid-senior-level project management expertise, a deep understanding of integrated marketing, and a passion for serving the member cooperatives that power our region.

As a power supplier owned by the electric cooperatives we serve, Tri-State’s work is member-focused, purpose-driven, and community-oriented. This role supports that mission by ensuring the efficient, strategic execution of campaigns and initiatives across internal teams and member-facing efforts.

Note: There is one position available and the position will be filled at one of four job grade levels: Creative Services Project Manager I, job grade 6; Creative Services Project Manager II, job grade 7, Creative Services Project Manager III, job grade 8; or Senior Creative Services Project Manager, job grade 9. This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected, and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

Hiring Salary Range: $72,000-$88,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Responsibilities

Project & Program Management

  • Lead the full lifecycle of member-facing and internalBrand Communications and Creative Services projects, from planning to execution to evaluation.
  • Design and implement a Workfront-based intake, workflow, and reporting system to manage all marketing and communications projects.
  • Create, coordinate and manage detailed project plans, schedules, meetings and resource allocations.
  • Ensure that all campaigns, creative work, and deliverables meet objectives, brand standards, and deadlines.
  • Identify project risks and issues early and recommend solutions to keep initiatives on track.
     

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Coordination
 

  • Collaborate closely with the Communications and Creative Services, Energy Services and Member Engagement and Member Services teams to support the launch and execution of member programs and outreach campaigns.
  • Coordinate development of collateral, digital assets, video content, and event support with internal and external partners.
  • Align campaign tactics with cooperative goals and member needs, ensuring message consistency across platforms.
  • Track and analyze KPIs and campaign performance data to drive continuous improvement.
     

Cross-Functional Collaboration
 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders across Tri-State and member systems.
  • Lead project meetings, including kickoffs, status updates, and post-mortems, fostering transparency and accountability.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Foster strong working relationships across internal departments and with external vendors.
     

Process Development & Operational Excellence
 

  • Develop scalable project management processes using Workfront, ensuring clear intake protocols, prioritization, and tracking.
  • Standardize workflows, timelines, and reporting tools to improve efficiency and visibility.
  • Support change management and team training as the Workfront system is implemented.
  • Because Tri-State is an electric utility with continuous service obligations to its customers, regular, reliable, and predictable performance of the essential functions and responsibilities is an essential function of the job.
  • Because Tri-State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.
     

Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; PMP certification preferred but not required.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in marketing or communications project management, preferably in-house or within the utility/energy sector.
  • Those with less experience will be hired at the I, II, or III level as appropriate.
  • Proven success managing large-scale, cross-functional campaigns and communications programs.
  • Hands-on experience with Workfront (or similar tools) for project management, resource planning, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate a member-focused, mission-driven environment and balance competing priorities.
     

Desired Job Qualifications
 

  • Familiarity with Canva and Brandfolder
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including overnight travel.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
