The Government Affairs Director works collaboratively with the Vice President of Public Policy to be an effective member of the Government Affairs team serving members to meet a broad range of legislative and regulatory needs of REALTORS® on issues impacting housing, property rights, and real estate.
The ideal candidate will have experience in working with legislators and legislative staff, conducting research, writing, planning meetings and educational sessions and providing services to support state legislatures. In this position, work may be performed independently or as a member of a team. This is a nonpartisan and non-advocacy position.
This position is a primary point of contact with various stakeholders from the mayor’s office, city council, and other city agencies in providing critical support of legislative and policymaking functions across the department. This position is also responsible for the oversight and administration of the Board of Public Health and Environment (BPHE), including overseeing administrative hearings and other governing functions.
The Legislative Liaison supports the Colorado State Board of Education and Department of Education in legislative efforts, representing department priorities before the General Assembly. Reporting to the Senior Legislative Advisor, this role provides critical support in advancing the board’s legislative priorities and building relationships with key stakeholders.
