Location
The Parks Events Facilitator position is an exciting, full-time, fully benefited position that will have the opportunity to be involved in many exciting private and public events taking place in Denver’s East District of Parks.
This position will report to the City Park Pavilion located at 2001 Steele Street but will travel as needed to facilitate and oversee various parks events. Scheduled workdays and times will be dependent on scheduled parks events. Approximately: during the busy season, this position will work Thursday – Tuesday and during the slow season, this position will work Monday – Friday.
What You’ll Do
Denver Parks and Recreation is seeking an Events Facilitator to support park events. This individual will work closely with permit holders and serve as the 'day-of' contact for events in our parks. This individual will conduct walk-throughs and damage assessments and is present the day of the event to ensure rules and regulations are followed and the venue is in good condition at the end of the event.
Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Conduct walk throughs with permit holders to ensure their needs can be met

Interpret, apply, and explain regulations, policies, and procedures to permit holders

Respond to incoming phone calls and emails regarding customer inquiries/bookings

Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders

Respond to event-related emergencies and resolve issues if applicable or coordinate with supervisor to resolve issues Serve as the on-site, day of event contact for events held at various Denver Parks

Oversee on-site operations of events to ensure all rules, regulations, and permit contract agreements are followed

Assess damages and walk through the pre- and post-event checklist with permit holders

Collect, enter, and analyze events-related data (e.g. site plan analysis) to support recommended innovations and develop proposals for improvements

We are looking for an Events Facilitator who enjoys making sure that events run smoothly from start to finish. You will be a problem solver and quick thinker who is comfortable working with all types of people and personalities. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who have previous event facilitation experience. Additionally, our ideal candidate will have:

Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS (Point of Sale System)

Prior in-person customer service experience
-
Experience in customer conflict resolution/mediation

Experience facilitating both private and public events
-
Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
Required Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate

Experience: Two (2) years of customer service work in special events or related industry

Licensures/Certification(s): Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment

Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
