Reporting to HECHO’s Executive Director, you will be responsible for deepening and expanding press coverage for HECHO and its work in English and Spanish-language/Latin media outlets, including pitching stories to national, regional, and local papers, magazines, TV and radio stations, and online news outlets. You will track the news cycle and write press statements, op-eds, and letters, etc. to ensure HECHO is weighing in on a range of conservation and outdoor topics, and further develop our unique storytelling narrative through blogs, videos, radio, social media, etc. You will inspire and motivate HECHO’s members and followers on email and social media channels to support and become part of our cause, and curate the HECHO website. You will help develop and implement a strategy to raise awareness about HECHO’s work to attract more financial support for our programs. You will also advance the dual goals of strengthening Hispanic/Latino civic engagement in conservation policy decision making and increasing action supporting conservation policy solutions.
