The Public Works Director serves as the strategic and operational leader of the Public Works Department, overseeing the Engineering, Operations, and Fleet Programs. This role is responsible for directing departmental programs, administering the budget, establishing service levels, and ensuring that the Village’s infrastructure and capital projects are effectively maintained, developed, and executed.
Responsible for monitoring and coordinating the Historic Preservation (HP), Planning, and Mt. Pisgah Cemetery processes, including intake of applications, review and distribution of materials submitted, disseminating information regarding HP concepts and guidelines, and interpreting code and reviewing guidelines, while maintaining records and processing actions by the HP Commission, Planning Commission, City Council, and Cemetery Board.

Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the Deputy Public Works Director performs complex professional, managerial, and technical work in assisting with planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing the activities, projects, and operations of the Public Works Department to maintain the quality and safety of the Town’s infrastructure.
This position will direct the marketing, new business pursuits, and provides business development support for ongoing programs. This position will report to the Director of Strategy within GSS helping to identify and assess new business pursuits, while shaping opportunities in line with the GSS business strategy.
